Sean Connery isn’t leaving his son shit when he dies. Connery’s worth something around $170 million, and according to his ex-wife Diane Cilento, his son Jason won’t be seeing any of it. From the Daily Mail:
She said Connery was determined that Jason should pursue a career and earn his own living, rather than sponging off his father. But Miss Cilento, who was married to Connery for 11 years before their bitter divorce in 1973, said Connery’s determination to cut Jason off financially meant they had a difficult relationship. She claims that at one stage Jason, who now works as an actor and film director, threatened to change his name after Connery accused him of cashing in on his father’s fame.
Australian-born Miss Cilento told the Sunday Times: ‘Sean said, “You only got this (acting) job because your name’s Connery.” ‘Jason said, “Well, I’ll change it to something else.” Sean said, “If you do that I’ll fucking kill you.” (Source)
Isn’t the whole point of being nice to old people the hope that they’ll one day leave their money to you? Sounds like Sean’s son will have to learn a thing or two from Paris about surviving without your family’s inheritance. Hopefully he won’t have to make his money the old fashioned way like she did: on his back.

I applaud Mr. Connery…he may be taking it a little far, but he worked DAMN hard to get to where he is. The man’s life was not easy. He just expects his to do the same thing, which is cool.
And j9000…I don’t know if you got the memo, but people like Sean Connery always stay top names in the industry. They don’t get replaced. Also, he’s retired.
You people are fucked up. Making you kids earn their way is one thing, but invalidating their accomplishments (in this case, telling his son he only got his job because of his last name) is something only a fucking asshole does.

Sean is a dick! Who he leaves his money to is his decision. But belittling his son’s accomplishments shows he’s an ass. If I was his son, I’d change my name and write him off.
Let’s hope that the issue of inheritance doesn’t arise for another 20 years or so. Sir Sean Connery is Mr. Cinema and noone wants to lose him, so show him some respect.
