I know that headline may be a bit harsh but it's just that I'm so passionate about seat-belt use dammit! Teen sensation Miley Cyrus is being criticized for not wearing a seatbelt while riding in the back seat of a Range Rover in her new film Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert. Consumer Reports says:
It seems to us that Miley, her father, and Disney had a perfect opportunity to help influence teens and counteract—rather than encourage—this trend. Then again, as Hannah herself sings, "Everybody makes mistakes." (Source)
Is not wearing a seat-belt the best thing these people can come up with to chastise Miley about? I'd think teaching suicidal teenagers not to hijack airplanes or telling kids it's wrong to pretend their father is dead to get free tickets to a concert would be a little higher on the list. If Miley really wanted to help out teens, she'd tell her father to chop off his mullet -- that thing's been corrupting the youth of America for decades!
