Sarah Hyland had a kidney transplant

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland revealed on Good Morning America earlier today that she had a kidney transplant last month. The 21-year-old actress was diagnosed with abnormal kidney development at the age of 9, and his suffered from a lifetime of pain and fatigue since. The San Francisco Chronicle says:

...as her health grew worse, she began seeking an organ donor. Her father, actor Edward James Hyland, was a match. She says she tells her dad, "It's weird — I've got your kidney in me."

Hyland plans to spend the show's summer hiatus recovering from her surgery.

So I'm assuming this disease leaves Sarah unable to drink alcohol, right? No way her kidneys could handle it. Bummer. If Lindsay Lohan had been diagnosed with this disease as a kid, she'd probably have five Oscar nominations by now instead of five pregnancy scares.

Sarah Hyland stars as Haley on Modern Family and of course Ashley Tisdale was in High School Musical (my absolute FAVE movie lolz!), and on Friday the two did a photoshoot for OP in Venice Beach. They held hands, pulled their socks way up, ate ice cream cones, and did a little rollerskating down the boardwalk. In other words, I'm pretty sure the director is a raging pedophile. "OK Ashley, now put your hair in pigtails and talk to Sarah about how much you love candy."
