Eccentric Nick Nolte showed up at a beachfront restaurant barefoot, disheveled and stinking so badly, a patron says he was forced to flee in disgust. The 68-year-old Hollywood bad boy was "freaking people out and appeared as if he was disoriented" when he sat down last month at Malibu's Hideaway Cafe, the patron told the Enquirer.Talk about life imitating art. Instead of spending millions of dollars to film Down and Out in Beverly Hills, it sounds like the producers could have just waited a couple of decades and followed Nick around with a video camera for free. Other customers were "shocked that such a dirty, out-of-it person would try to eat there. It looked like he was completely lost." The star was "grimy and barefoot," disclosed the source.
"He was wearing a soiled poncho-type cape -- and he smelled disgusting, too! When I looked closely, I realized it was Nick Nolte -- and I was stunned. He smelled so bad, I felt sick to my stomach and couldn't finish eating. When he began to eat, he was drooling."
