Nicollette Sheridan is suing the creator of Desperate Housewives, Marc Cherry, after she claims he punched her and then killed her off the show after she reported the incident to ABC execs (note to Nicollete: $20 million lawsuits always work better with a police report). From TMZ:

Nicollette Sheridan has sued Marc Cherry, the creator of "Desperate Housewives," alleging he struck her across the head and face on the set, and after she complained he fired her. Sheridan is suing for more than $20 million.

Sheridan says during the 5th season, Cherry put her in his crosshairs. She claims on September 24, 2008, he physically assaulted her after she questioned him about something in the script. According to the lawsuit, "Cherry took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head."

Sheridan says she immediately reported the incident to ABC, but Cherry's aggressiveness only worsened and ABC failed to take action . . . And, she says, she was killed off the show unfairly.

Clearly this Marc guy didn't have a strong fatherly influence in his life growing up. Because my dad always taught me that violence is never the way to solve your problems. He also taught me that nothing covers up insurance fraud better than fire. Um now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't be passing along his advice.
