Malin Akerman replaces Lindsay Lohan in Inferno

While you were away over the weekend, Lindsay Lohan was dropped from the Linda Lovelace biopic Inferno (i.e. literally the only thing she had going in life), and replaced with Malin Akerman. The director of the film Matthew Wilder told E!:

"We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support," Wilder says. "Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her—and some other issues—have made it impossible for us to go forward."

Another source lied to Radar:

"Lindsay has realized that in order to get her life and career back on track, she has to be very selective with her projects," the insider says.  "She wants to pursue projects like the ones that made her successful.

"She also realizes that she doesn't need to identify with roles that relate to issues she dealt with. Everyone on her treatment team has stressed that."

Oh yeah, clearly Lindsay has so much going for her right now that she can afford to be very selective. Her career is like a rocket, soaring to heights unkown. Everyone wants her. Martin Scorsese actually called her at Betty Ford just the other day. He asked if her refrigerator was running and then giggled uncontrollably and hung up.

Malin Akerman is in next month's Details and, I don't want to spoil the surprise, but she's lacking sufficient clothing in a few of the pictures (here, here, and here -- all semi-NSFW). Also, the shark dies at the end of Jaws. Oops, there's another spoiler. I'll shut up now.
