Lacey Chabert quit drinking alcohol after a bad experience she had on the set of hit TV show Party of Five. She was supposed to act drunk for a scene but was having trouble figuring out exactly what to do. Red wine-supplying producers to the rescue! She tells Maxim magazine:
"In the hair and make-up trailer beforehand they gave me a glass of red wine... I'd never had a drink before. I held my nose and just downed it. I got so drunk I couldn't remember my dialogue. After the scene everyone applauded. I don't think anyone knew the truth. I actually got sick the next day just from that and haven't cared for alcohol since."
Lacey's situation reminds me of my first day of high school years ago. You should have seen me, I was an acne-faced bundle of nerves, eager to make a great first impression. To settle me down, my Mom let me have a few sips of her pre-breakfast wine--it wasn't that crappy stuff you get in a bottle either, it was the good boxed stuff. Those few sips turned into a few glasses which turned into an entire box. Before I knew it, I was in homeroom doing snow angels in a puddle of my own urine. Sure my Mom got arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, but really, who hasn't been arrested for that 3-4 times?
