Drama in the Spears' delivery room!
There was some major drama in the delivery room during the birth of little Maddie Briann Spears last week. Basically Jamie Lynn tried to kill her baby and she hates her mom. A family insider told Star:
"The baby's heart rate dropped every time she tried to push. They did an ultrasound and quickly discovered that the umbilical cord was too short." But despite the doctors' dire warnings, the 17-year-old "was adamant about having a natural delivery."
Jamie Lynn did eventually have a c-section but not before Britney ran out of the room in tears:
"[Britney] got mad," says the insider. She told Jamie Lynn to "just have a damn Caesarian," as she did. "Britney then ran out in tears because she couldn't bear to see what was happening."
According to the source, Lynne's presence in the delivery room didn't help:
"Lynne was already angry because her daughter didn't want her in the delivery room at all. But she had insisted on being there, along with Casey Aldridge, Jamie Lynn's boyfriend. Jamie Lynn cussed and yelled at her mom, and told her to get out. She cursed Lynne for bringing her into the world to bear such pain." (Source)
For once Jamie Lynne and I have something in common: we both curse her mother for bringing her into this world. Does anyone else find Jamie Lynne's behavior in the delivery room a little odd? It's almost as if *shocker* she didn't want the baby. Now I'm not saying her refusal to listen to her doctor's warnings of "dire" consequences to the baby if she went through with the natural birth is suspicious -- but last month's two week "vacation" to Chernobyl followed by her "accidental" fall down a flight of stairs (twice), might be.

Welcome to Kentwood
Jamie Lynn's birthin' is the talk of Kentwood, Louisiana. Via People:
"I'm really happy for her and her family," says Jennifer Pike, who works at the corner store where the Spears family often shops. "There will probably be some rough times and some bumpy times, but I wish the best for her. I wish her all the luck in the world." (Source)
Last June if you had told Jamie Lynn that one year from now, the chick that works at the corner store in Kentwood would be talking to People magazine about her new baby, I'm 99% sure she would have killed herself.
NOTE: I think this is my favorite pic of Kentwood. Guns and Ammo? What convenience!

Jamie Lynn Spears gives birth to a baby girl
People just confirmed that Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth to a baby girl earlier this morning at hospital in Mississippi:
People confirms exclusively that the baby was named Maddie Briann."Just the family was there," says a source about the birth around 9:30 a.m. at a hospital in Mississippi, near her Louisiana hometown. "Everyone is healthy and happy."
. . . Over the last few months, Spears has kept busy by passing her GED exam, preparing the nursery and attending multiple baby showers. (Source)
I give up. I could sit in front of this computer screen for nine hours and not come up with something funnier than that last sentence.

Paparazzo arrested for stalking Jamie Lynn Spears
Apparently Mississippi never got the memo that celebrities aren't allowed to have private lives. A paparazzo was arrested in Liberty, Mississippi on Wednesday for stalking Jamie Lynn Spears. TMZ says:
Edwin Merino was arrested yesterday on charges of stalking J-L and Casey in Liberty, Mississippi. He says he was at least a couple hundred feet away when he was shooting them, but cops still nabbed him at the gas station where he was shooting. He posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court next week. (Source)
The double standard with this story is an outrage! You mean to tell me that a paparazzo can take pictures of a half-naked and pregnant Jessica Alba lounging around in her pool, but photographing someone on the street is illegal? Next you'll be telling me that I can't go to cheerleading nationals and walk around with tha acamera fastened to the bottom of my cane! What is this country coming to?! Maybe it's just time to move somewhere where society is a little more tolerant of "alternative lifestyles" . . . like Vatican City.

Jamie Lynn Spears new house in Kentwood, LA
It's got a barn and a shed and a fishin' hole and everything! It's even got a great porch perfect for Jamie Lynn to sit back in her rocking chair and reflect on where everything went wrong in her life. It's what any pregnant 17-year-old could hope for! Oh, and according to my calculations, it's only 4.8 miles away from Wal-Mart. That's right Jamie Lynn, dreams do come true!

Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge leaving a Wal-Mart in McComb, MS (5/26)
Jamie Lynn Spears wants to push back her wedding to Casey Aldridge because she doesn't want to get married "with a big bump" under her dress. In Touch Weekly says:
Jamie Lynn and Casey are expected to move into their new home soon but still have not set a wedding date. "I don't want to get married with a big bump under my dress," a witness heard Jamie Lynn say while shopping. There are also whispers that tension remains between Jamie Lynn and her parents over the marriage. However, her sister Britney is impressed with how well Jamie Lynn is coping. "I am so proud of my sister," Britney was recently overheard saying. "She seems to really have it all together."
Jamie Lynn and Casey have reportedly picked out the name for the little one, whenever she does make her grand entrance into the world. According to the weekly entertainment magazine their favorite name that they have picked out so far is Emma Jean.
Is getting married with a "big bump under her dress" really the most pressing thing Jamie should be worrying about at her wedding? I'd think finding the right caliber shells for her shotgun might be a little higher on the list. And is anyone else even slightly surprised she's decided to name her baby Emma Jean? It's reasonable to assume that if the baby had turned out to be a boy, she would have chosen between the names Billy Bob, Willy Mo, and Broken Condom.

Britney Spears at Jamie Lynn's baby shower (5/3)
Jamie Lynn Spears had her baby shower at the family compound in Kentwood, Lousiana, on Saturday. Making a surprise appearance at the party was Jamie's big sister Britney. E! has the details:
Friends and family gathered at mom Lynne's home, known as "Serenity," where Britney and her father, Jamie, are staying. E! News has learned that mom and dad did all the cooking for the alcohol-free affair, which included fried chicken and chili.Security was tight at Serenity, with police setting up a roadblock and checking IDs. By noon, only about 50 cars were allowed to enter, mostly filled with college-age men and women.
Filled with college-age men and women? Are we talking about Jamie Lynn's baby shower or Britney's vagina last year? *rimshot*
There was no sign of Jamie Lynn's baby daddy/fiancé, Casey Aldridge. (Source)
Obviously. Everyone knows Saturdays are his coon huntin' days.
NOTE: Also appearing at the baby shower: shame, regret, shattered dreams

Jamie Lynn Spears turns 17
Jamie Lynn Spears celebrated her 17th birthday Friday night in Mississippi and it went pretty much how you'd expect. People magazine says:
Jamie Lynn Spears celebrated her 17th birthday with fiancé Casey Aldridge having dinner at Ruby Tuesday and shopping at Wal-Mart, a source says."They both seemed really happy, both in really good moods," the source tells PEOPLE of the couple's outing near Aldridge's home in Liberty, Miss. "Jamie Lynn had a big smile on her face." (Source)
I'd be utterly shocked if this baby's first words weren't "I reckon."

Jamie Lynn Spears is getting married
The Jamie Lynn Spears engagement rumors are true. Spears was seen at a Kentwood, Louisiana gas station yesterday wearing an engagement ring. Obviously this is great news. Now I can send her that mixer I bought last week for a wedding present instead of dealing with the headache of returning it. It's broken. Just like her future!
