Earlier this week, English stroller company Maclaren announced a voluntary recall of one million strollers after 12 children in the United States had their fingers amputated in the hinges. That's right, 12 out of a million. Kids are fucking retarded, yet 999,988 of them managed to not slice off their finger in one of these strollers. From Time:
This recall doesn't just involve one specific model. Stop using any single- or double-umbrella stroller with Maclaren written on it, says the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The problem: Maclaren received reports that 12 children had their fingertips amputated after they placed their fingers in the hinge where the stroller folds.One celebrity affected by the recall is Jessica Alba, who has been seen pushing her daughter Honor around in a Maclaren DEATHTRAP 2000 stroller. Just kidding, it's a Techno XT. I can't believe Jessica would put Honor in harm's way like this. She needs to be taught a lesson so this never happens again. I think a light spanking should do the trick.
"This is a very serious hazard," says Scott Wilson, spokesman for the CPSC. "We know child behavior, we know kids like to explore and sometimes put their fingers in places where they shouldn't be. But finger amputations that result from using a product that parents expect to be safe is unacceptable."
