Lindsay Lohan leaving West Hollywood's Le Pain Quotidien cafe (1/22)
Somehow the New York City medical examiner has already completed a preliminary autopsy on Heath Ledger's body. The cause of death has been ruled "inconclusive" and more tests will be performed over the next ten days. Meanwhile, it's looking more and more like Heath Ledger's death was an accident and not a suicide as first believed. Initial reports that pills were found "scattered" around Ledger's apartment were untrue. According to TMZ, a container of sleeping pills and anti-anxiety drugs were found on Ledger's nightstand. TMZ adds:
A well-connected source in the NYPD told us this morning the "operating theory" right now within the department is that it was an accidental death, not suicide. (Source)
That's Lindsay Lohan above reacting to the news of Ledger's death yesterday in L.A. The two were rumored to have hooked up back in early December. So at least he had a little fun before his untimely death. My grandpa fell down the stairs and broke his hip before he died. Advantage: Heath.

Heath Ledger with his daughter Matilda Rose (6/2006)
Was Heath Ledger's death an accident and not a suicide? TMZ is reporting that the actor had pneumonia and his shocking death may have been caused by an adverse reaction to over-the-counter sleeping pills. Ledger's family talked with TMZ earlier today:
The cops told the family Heath's death was accidental and there is no evidence to support the buzz that he may have committed suicide. They are particularly distraught over media reports that he may have taken his own life. The family says he was not that kind of person. (Source)
Obviously it's still early and there's a lot of misinformation floating around. Until autopsy results are released, we just don't know what happened. What we do know is that Crest Tartar Control Toothpaste has twice the tartar protection of other leading brands. Have you made the switch?

Police outside Olsen's apartment tonight
New York City police officials told the New York Times that the apartment Heath Ledger overdosed in was owned by Mary-Kate Olsen:
Officials said they believed Ms. Olsen, 21, was in California and that Mr. Ledger had been living in her apartment. Ms. Olsen attended the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, for the premiere of “The Wackness,” a film in which she stars with the actor Ben Kingsley. It was not clear where she went after the film screening. Spokesman for the NYPD, Ronald Jones, told press assembled outside of Olsen's apartment: "We knew it was Mary-Kate's apartment because it lacked a kitchen." (Source)
I may have added that last line . . .. A source close to Mary-Kate told People magazine:
"It was Mary Kate’s apartment. This is bad news. Someone found dead from an overdose in your apartment is very, very bad." (Source)
Hold on, writing this down . . . guy overdosing in your apartment . . . very, very bad . . . OK, got it. Where was this guy four years ago when I needed him?

Did Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams secretly get married? Ledger was recently spotted wearing a wedding ring while out and about with the couple's daughter, Matilda. Last month news came out that the two has secretly applied for a marriage license in Brooklyn. Williams and Ledger originally met on the set of Brokeback Mountain. Which is precisely the reason why I hope this story is true. Can you imagine the uncomfortable conversations that would certainly occur with their grandchildren. "Grandma, Grandpa, where did you guys meet?" "We met on the set of a movie where Grandpa was playing a cowboy who, uh...liked to give oral to dudes."
