Ethan Hawke in New York City (10/29)
Ethan Hawke almost got ran over in New York City last week because he was too busy messing around with his cell phone. Rocker Mike Cristi told Steppin' Out magazine about the incident:
"He came within inches of getting struck before he looked up and saw my truck. I had to swerve and nearly hit another car just to avoid killing him! He just smiled, said, 'Hey!' and went back to texting." (Source)
This story smells fakes--Ethan Hawke can't read let alone type! He was probably playing some sort of really complicated game on his cell phone - like contacts--or my favorite--calculator. Either way, this Cristi guy could have done us all a favor by not having his brakes serviced. On a completely unrelated note, Gattaca sucked.
