Christian Bale and his wife Sibi at the Barcelona premiere of The Dark Knight (7/23)

The Sun claims that Christian Bale's sister's demand for a $200k "loan" is what started the fight on Sunday that led to his arrest on Tuesday. After Bale snubbed his sister Sharon, she started insulting his wife Sibi. Wow, what a pleasant woman. A source told the tabloid:

"Christian is a very wealthy young man and was asked to help his sister out financially. He was asked to loan her £100,000 (~$200,000) but he refused and that caused an almighty row. During that row, the women claim, he assaulted them by pushing and shoving them. Both Jenny and Sharon are terribly upset over what happened. They did not want any publicity and the last thing they wanted to do was wreck his premiere evening. But they say he bullied them. They are both devastated that it has come to this but want him to be taught a lesson." (Source)

The Sun claims that Sharon needed the $200k to help raise her three children, ages twelve, ten, and one. Look, child-rearing is expensive, it's understandable that Sharon needs a little cash. I just hate to see her ambush her brother on one of the biggest nights of his career. If only there was a solution to this mess that didn't involve leaching money from her brother, a "job" type solution if you will.

We may finally have an idea of what went down at London's Dorchester Hotel Sunday night that led to Christian Bale's arrest today. Are Christian's mother and sister a couple of violent leeches? Sure. Some chick named "Edna" left these comments over at Jared today:

His mom and sister are alcoholics and drug addicts, they showed up at his hotel uninvited and highly intoxicated. they were calling him big shot and that he needs to take care of his own. His mom was yelling that he would be nothing without her and he owed her. His sister was begging for money and when he was pushing her toward the door his mother came from behind and started hitting him on his head and kicking him. He managed to push them both out the door and his mom fell, they called the police and wanted him arrested. I believe that Chirstian is the victim here not his mom or sister

y father works security at the hotel, and he said it was a mess. His mom and sister wanted the front desk worker to let them into his room to wait for him. When they were told no they started cussing and yelling. they sat in front of his door for an hour until he finally arrived.

Sounds pretty believable to me. The few times I've ever assaulted my mom have been after she asked me for money. She's under the mistaken impression that being a famous blogger means I have more money than I know what to do with. I'll have you know last month I had to cut the hours of my private masseuse from 12 to 8 a day. It's rough when I want my post-dinner foot rub but we all have to make a sacrifice in this economy.

Christian Bale arrested

Christian Bale was arrested in London today on charges he assaulted his own mother and sister in his hotel suite on Sunday just hours after the European premiere of his blockbuster film The Dark Knight. Ummm, wow? The actor is currently being question at a central London police station. From the Daily Mail:

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning by appointment. He was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault. He currently remains in custody."

The two women, who live in Dorset, went to a Hampshire police station yesterday to make a formal allegation.

The complaint about the actor was then passed to the Metropolitan Police for further investigation. (Source)

In Bale's defense, he did tell those bitches not to touch the mini bar.
