Paris Hilton and Barron Hilton leaving the VIP Club in Cannes in 2010

Remember the [underage] DUI Paris Hilton's brother Barron got back in 2008 in which he hit and injured a gas station worker? The guy that he hit sued and the jury came back this week with a verdict. Hmmmm, sympathetic guy struggling to get by in life vs. a snotty little Hilton heir . . . who ya' got? From Radar:
A jury in Santa Monica on Tuesday ordered Barron Hilton's auto insurance company to pay $4.6 million to the man he hit while driving intoxicated. The jury deliberated for two days, and the bad news doesn't stop there. The jury comes back Thursday to determine if any punitive damages should be paid to Telez. Telez said he'd broken his back, and has been unable to find work since the incident.

If the jury awards punitive damage, Barron Hilton will be responsible for paying that because under California law, insurance companies are only liable for compensatory damages.
What insurance company in their right mind would cover one of the Hiltons? You'd have to know that they'd eventually abuse it. That would be like issuing life insurance to one of the Kennedys or unemployment insurance to Lindsay Lohan. Let's just hope this whole ordeal has taught Barron a valuable lesson: that drinking and driving don't mix use Rebecca Gayheart's lawyer next time.

UPDATE: The jury ordered Barron to pay $225k in punitive damages out of his own pocket. But cheer up Barron, there's no way you're gonna have to pay $225k . . . the real figure should be closer to 20 times that after you insurance company sues the shit out of you. Oops, I didn't mean to say "cheer up."

Barron Hilton has a new ride

The Hilton Family: Where getting your license back after your DUI suspension ends is seen as a milestone life event. From TMZ:
Barron Hilton has shown he's not to be trusted behind the wheel of a car -- but that didn't stop his dad from buying him a $60,000 ride as a reward for getting his license back after a DUI bust in 2008.

Hilton got his driver's license back Tuesday ... it was yanked after he pled no contest in 2008 to DUI in Malibu, where he allegedly hit a gas station employee with his car.

The 20-year-old went to the DMV and had to re-take his road test. We're told he was sober and he passed. His reward from pops -- a black 2010 Mercedes E550 Coupe.
Giving Barron a car makes about as much sense as giving T.I. a handgun for serving his prison term. While he's at it, Rick might as well cement his victory in the "Parent of the Year" competition and buy Barron a custom Kegerator for his trunk. Bottom line is there's only one way Rick will ever be motivated enough to teach his son about responsibility: by getting in the car with him . . . without wearing a seat belt.

Barron Hilton's mug shot from his DUI arrest

Apparently some people in Hollywood actually know who the hell Barron Hilton is. Paris' younger brother was able to get criminal mastermind Nicholas Prugo kicked out of Voyeur nightclub last Saturday night just because he didn't like him. From the New York Post:
Barron Hilton is a protective younger brother. The 18-year-old 20-year-old sibling of Paris Hilton was at West Hollywood hot spot Voyeur on Saturday when he spotted Nicholas Prugo, the ringleader of the so-called "Burglar Bunch," accused of stealing jewelry and designer duds from Paris, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and Rachel Bilson, among others. "Barron asked the security guard to ask [Nicholas] his name," a source tells Paper mag. When the guard confirmed it was Prugo, Barron told him, "Get him the [bleep] out of here," and had him tossed.
Hey, did you hear the news? You don't have to be 21 anymore to party at Voyeur! That is so cool. I think we should all call the Los Angeles branch of the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control @ (213) 833-6043 and personally thank them for finally allowing 20-year-olds to get drunk at nightclubs.

Paris and Barron Hilton leaving Teddy's nightclub last year

Barron "I had my first DUI when I was just 18" Hilton is ready to take the world by storm. Hold your laughter please. According to the New York Post, Paris' little brother is currently producing an album and is in talks with Viacom to produce a reality show. How original. He told the paper:
"I want to be an international singer-songwriter. I'm sick of all the Hilton stuff, where all anyone cared about was whether I was doing coke in the bathroom or how many [bleeps] I was sleeping with. I'm done with partying and traveling. It's time to get this [bleep] started. [The reality show is] gonna be like 'The Hills,' but real. A lot of that stuff is pre-setup or re-setup. This is gonna show the meetings, the production side, the recording side . . . I just want people to say, 'Wow, this song really moved me, or made me cry.' " (Source)
Newsflash Barron: Your music really is going to "make people cry" . . . as soon as they press "Play." What's hardest to understand about this story is why Barron has decided to give up on partying and banging random sluts. Isn't that the whole reason for becoming a musician in the first place? I'd be inclined to believe that Barron's aspirations were indeed altruistic and not self-serving if it weren't for one minor detail: His last name.
