"Stretching shouldn't be viewed as an afterthought to your workouts, for it is the number one way to increase flexibility and improve the range of motion of your joints, which helps prevent injuries. But don't go overboard -- keep stretching gentle. The worse thing you can do is "bounce" a stretch. If you feel pain, stop. Pain is the body's way of saying you've stretched too far, friends. Hold a stretch for 20-30 seconds, then switch to the opposite muscle and repeat. If you have a problem area or the stretch is particularly helpful for pain or discomfort, you may benefit from repeating the stretch multiple times. If you have any health conditions or injuries, talk to your doctor or physical therapist about which stretches are right for you."
Thanks Alessandra!
