Amy Winhouse dead at the age of 27

Amy Winehouse was found dead at her house in Northern London this morning. She was 27. According to police, the cause of death isn't immediately clear, but I think we can rule out a skateboarding accident. More on Monday . . .

UPDATE: More from Sky:
Sky's home affairs correspondent Mark White says it is believed the singer died of a suspected drug overdose but officially her death is being treated as "unexplained." The London Ambulance Service was called to her flat just after 4pm but were unable to save her life. Sky sources said the singer was "beyond help" when paramedics arrived.

"On arrival, officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene," a police statement said.
"Beyond help" when the paramedics arrived? She's been beyond help for years. So a lot like Lindsay Lohan's career.

    what a bummer. siiiiiiiike

  • BECKY

Autopsy results are out. No specific evidence that drugs led to her death.

Thank God we have Obama. He care. A bad like Amy death not happen hear.

  • Anonymous

What is tragic and sad is that her government did nothing to help her. Where was the England government anyway. If Amy had lived in the U.S., Obama would have had a plan to help her out of her miseries. She would be alive today.

    Biggest pile of BS ever

  • Her Fan

I have been crying off and on since I heard the terrible news. Trying to make if from one hour to the next. The thought that she is gone, that never again will I see and hear her perform is almost to much to bear. The world is a cold dark place with Amy gone. Whatever will we do?

  • jcsuperstar

They say she died listening to her own music - must have been a mercy killing

  • jcsuperstar

Another waste of space gone - more air for the real people

  • Jack

Can't say I'm not surprised. When you live a life of drugs and alcohol like her, you quadruple the chances of dying like her. Sorry guys no sadness here, she did it to herself!

What a horrible thing to say. It was not Amy's fault. She was a poor victim of social decay. Blame society, not the helpless recently departed.

  • Eric

    This is very sad news.

  • Sean

The would is a sadder darker place without Amy Winehouse to brighten it with her music.

  • Pearl

I think she just peacefully went to sleep, and while asleep, her brave heart quit beating. It was a very quite peaceful death, and now she is singing up above with the angels. That great voice is stilled on earth, but the memory of her beautiful music will live through the ages.

What makes it even more sad is that she was unable to have children. If only she had left a son or daughter behind to carry on her name.

  • MacKenzie Hawkins

Remember when she was talking about having kids? That would have been just a tragic addendum to her sad life.

On another sad note, there goes one of our favorite "Ahhhhhh"'s. She was always good for a scary pic or two.

I am sure that after an appropriate amount of time, for heartfelt grieving, Celebslam can occasionaly recydle some of Ms. Winehouses more memorable photos.

  • Hollywoodeast

WOW...I am shocked. Someone that took so good care of them self.......NOT!

  • Newsom

No one knows that she died as a result of drugs and/or alcohol. People should not speculate about these things, instead they should wait till the facts are known. There are a lot of reasons for sudden death besides drugs-alcohol.

  • Too soon?

I'll be here all week. The steak is nice.

  • Sally

She knew what she was doing, it's sad but she would still be here if she was finally sensible and got the help x

  • Anjanja

    WOW :ooooooooooo!

  • Angus

Sad that she is dead but it is not unexpected considering her addictive personality.

Love how investigators are saying that cause of death isn't immediately clear but in a few days we'll learn all about how much booze and prescription drugs those same investigators find in her apt.

  • Susan

May she rest in peace. She was a great lady and performer. I guess her heart just gave up and quit beating. So sad.

  • master yoda

That sucks. Her demons got the best of her. She was both an amazing artist and a hot mess all at the same time.

    Dear friends,

George W. Bush tried to make Wine-House go to REHAB,

but Wine-House said: no, No, NO!

    Yes, Wine-House has been BLACK,

    but when she comes back,

    USA will know, Know, KNOW!

Wine-House does NOT got the time(to go to REHAB) and

if Barack H. Obama thinks Wine-House is fine...

George W. Bush tried to make Wine-House go to REHAB,

but Wine-House will NOT go, Go, GO!

    Conclusion:

    OUR HEALTH IS IMPORTANT!

    Greetings,

    Jurgen R. Brul
