Why should abortion be considered murder? To consider something murder, it has to have what we call 'mens rea' or malicious intent. Abortion doesn't happen with that. The intent of abortions is not to harm the fetus (that's merely an action that has to be accomplished to achieve another goal). It is in fact to safeguard the mother from harm- social stigma or even complications from her unwanted pregnancy. Once again, may I stress unwanted? Abortion mitigates the amount of mothers who cannot even bear to look at their children because it reminds them of how they were impregnated against there own will, and it mitigates the amount of children who end up traumatized and in adoption agencies' care because their mother did not in fact want them. So okay, don't tolerate abortion and simply tolerate the prolonged suffering of thousands of women and children. Life is pretty good, but the quality of that very life is what really matters.
