Portia de Rossi is pissing a whole bunch of people off in Australia because she refuses to be interviewed by a man during the promotional tour for her new book. Grrrrrr, that makes me so angry! From the San Francisco Chronicle:

The actress, who is married to comedienne Ellen DeGeneres, is currently on a promotional tour for her memoirs, "Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain." The book chronicles her battles with anorexia and her sexuality.

David Koch, the host of hit morning show "Sunrise," reveals he was furious when the actress' team asked for his co-host, Melissa Doyle, to chat to the star via satellite from Los Angeles, accusing the actress of "discrimination."

He tells the Sydney Morning Herald, "If a male said I don't want to be interviewed by a woman, there would be a massive outcry of discrimination.

"Obviously she has got issues and I feel quite sorry for her. ... I admire what she and Ellen have done for community tolerance and inclusiveness. But it is a real contradiction for what she stands for, which really surprises me. Maybe she is uncomfortable with men, but she plays opposite male leads."

Portia spends the last ten years fighting for sexual equality, and then won't work with someone because of their sex? The only way this chick could be more of a hypocrite is if she suddenly started protesting short haircuts, k.d. lang, comfortable running shoes, and tuna fish. Besides, considering who she's married to, it not like Portia really cares what people look like.

Couldn't it just be that she doesn't like David Koch? He's kind of a douche. I love how he automatically jumped to the conclusion that she must hate men because she didn't want to be interviewed by him.

Couldn't it just be because of the subject of her book? I mean the struggle with anorexia isn't a thing a guy can very well understand or even begin to relate to...

I find it very bizaar that she hates men so much that she wont even be inteviewed by them.I have many gay and lesbian friends who accept people as they are.I think she misses out on the friendship of many good men. I also find it strange that many lesbian women who say they hate men dress and act like men.I wont be reading her book.

Fair enough, because men hate Portia de Rossi. She has an utterly miniscule public profile down here in the country of her birth which she was so keen to abandon. Nobody gives a rat's arse what she has to say. And David Koch is roundly regarded as a knob end too.
