So I guess Christina Ricci is afraid of plants or something. Um, OK. I'm afraid of axe-wielding psychos and she's afraid of hibiscus. Tomato, tuhmato . . . or is she afraid of tomatoes, too? From Showbiz Spy:

Actress Christina Ricci has an unusual phobia! The Speed Racer star, 30, admits she’s scared of plants because the soil makes her feel “dirty”.

"They are dirty! If I have to touch one, then it freaks me out," she said. "Honestly, I can’t go near them."

Well, at least now I know what I'll be getting Christina for her birthday: a copy of Seedpeople. If I was Christina, there'd be plenty of other things that would scare me more than plants -- like the fact that I guest-starred on Joey in 2005 or my poorly-placed tattoos (pic here - NSFW). To be fair, Christina's not afraid of all plants. If you get a few drinks in her, I hear she's great at tossing salads.

She is a child of the city. Can you blame her. Country life can be dangerious. there are dangerous plants like poison ivy and oak. Plant pollens make you sneeze. Bugs and snakes hide in folage waiting to attack you. Its much safer to stay on cement and alphalt.
