Paris Hilton won't be serving jail time for her arrest in Las Vegas last month for cocaine possession. She's agreed to a plea deal that can best be described as a slap on the wrist. Good for her. It's about time she caught a break in life. From the AP:

Clark County District Attorney David Roger says the celebrity socialite has agreed to plead guilty Monday to drug possession and obstructing an officer in Las Vegas Justice Court under the terms of a plea deal worked out with prosecutors after her Aug. 27 arrest.

Hilton will serve a year of unsupervised probation and complete a drug abuse program under the plea agreement. She originally faced a felony cocaine possession charge.

Of course Paris is getting away with it -- she's rich. If any if us had been caught with cocaine in our possession, we'd be choking on our cellmate Bubba's man meat by now. It just goes to show you that if you're rich and famous, society's rules don't apply to you. It also goes to show you that if you're Clay Aiken, you're going to have to work a little harder to fulfill that jailhouse fantasy of yours. I'd recommend murder. Caught on tape. Of the judge's spouse.

Did anyone stop to think that the whole affair was set up to give Ms. Paris a good cover story and creditability for her next undercover mission on behalf of the State Department? You people need to wake up to the fact that Paris is a secret agent and operative for the Federal Government. She reports directly to Hillary.

Wow - you're shocked that she got away with it because she's rich! How naive. If you could afford $1,000 an hour lawyers you'd get the same treatment. I've got an idea - let's tax the rich to the point of poverty so that everyone is treated fairly and then we can sing Kumbayah all the way to Nirvana.
