Paris Hilton's income just got cut by about 90%. In the wake of her cocaine arrest last week, she's become persona non grata in Las Vegas. Goodbye appearance fees, hello regular job at Best Buy. But at least she'll get a 5% discount, so that's pretty cool. From People:
"Because Vegas nightclubs are under so much scrutiny right now, I don't know how welcome she would be," says a club executive who has booked Hilton, 29, to host parties. "Considering she's busted for cocaine, people might assume that she's going to the club either to use coke or she's already on coke, and no club wants to be associated with that."Right. Because no one else at any Vegas nightclub is doing coke. The only things getting blown more than cocaine in those clubs are professional athletes. Of course, if these hotels are going to stop allowing drugs into their clubs, they're going to have to do what they usually do to keep their patrons up all night with no concept of time or money -- install blackjack tables.
In Nevada, liquor licenses are closely watched by gambling regulators, and violations can be severe. Recently the Gaming Control Board shut down a Las Vegas nightclub because of several infractions, including drugs allegedly being used on the premises.
