Paris Hilton might actually go to jail

If Paris Hilton isn't already shitting herself over the felony she was charged with yesterday, she should be. The D.A. handling her case is the same dude who locked up O.J. And he's running for reelection. Uh oh. From Radar:
"[Las Vegas District Attorney David] Roger won't tolerate celebrities coming to Las Vegas and thinking they can get away with illegal behavior," the source close to the case told RadarOnline.com. "It's going to be extremely difficult for Paris to get out of these charges, even with the brilliant legal skills of her lawyer, David Chesnoff."

Roger is running for reelection and has a record of high-profile victories in the legal arena.

“This is a high profile case, right before a very important election, and it's very likely that there will be no plea bargaining down of these charges," said the source.
It just goes to show you how fucked up Los Angeles is when a D.A. outside the city who actually does his job (i.e. he doesn't selectively enforce laws based on how many entries you have on your IMDB page) is viewed as some kind of crime-fighting superhero. And it's not like L.A.'s getting any better. How do you fix a broken criminal justice system? You don't. Hell, I live in San Diego and even I'm hoping Southern California breaks off into the sea during the next big earthquake.

If they prosecuted every arrest for less than a gram of coke in LA county, it would be twenty years before a case would be heard. Las Vegas is so small compared to LA. Long Beach an LA suburb has 500k people in it alone. The justice system would crumble and dangerous criminals would run rampant. It's impossible to run LA small or medium sized city - and the taxpayers would basically have to surrender all their money to keep the courts and support systems funded. That being said, you can get busted with a little less than a pound of pot and get a ticket, it's not a felony in most cities in LA county, or anywhere else in the state. She's not a trafficker she's probably an drug addict, this is the 4th time in as many months she's been caught with drugs. Las Vegas has a way harsher system due to the gambling operations, where there are drugs in Vegas there is the mafia.

She's going to get her ears pinned back and she'll never work a club promotion again which was her bread and butter income source, she's way more screwed financially than the criminal & PR part of this arrest. Plus her boyfriend can never work in Vegas again and had a great job for the best Casino and Resort in town. He's really screwed forever.

Paris is too rare a national treasure to be allowed to languish in prison. She is important to our international diplomacy mission. Does she look worried? NO. She knows that the government will never allow the NVPD and their DA to put her away on framed up charges. Its all the work of right wing radical tea party supporters trying to get back at the government, Obama and Hillary.

Hey I was working on a repair of Santa's sleigh and I saw three pictures of Paris Hilton on the dash board. I asked Santa why he had these and he said he needed them to remember his famous tag-line..."Ho-Ho-Ho!".

Paris explained how it was all a mistake and not her purse. Why are they still hounding her? She would not lie about something like that. Her word is as good as money in the bank.

If it is found that Paris did the crime, she may have to do the time, unless her lawyer can find a reasonable judge, who is willing to recognize that celebs are not like the great unwashed and common herd. They are bright shining stars and they must be allowed their foiables. You might compare celebs with national level politicians.

Obama must save her. He protected Tim Geitner from impeachment for far greater crime, so that would be only fair he protects a strategical diplomatic asset such as Paris.

You are so right. Our President cares about his people, and he cares about Paris. He is known for doing the proper thing. I am sure he will bring pressure on the locals to do what is right.

Be brave Paris, we love you so much.
