Key word: "want." She wants to go but can't afford it. And she has simply too much pride to ask somebody else to pay her way. Oh wait, no she doesn't. From the New York Post:
If Lindsay Lohan makes it to Cannes this year, it'll be on her own dime. We hear she's been trying to swing a free trip to the film festival to wrangle money for her new Linda Lovelace biopic, "Inferno," but no one's willing to pay for her. "She's been asking around, but hasn't had any takers," says a source.
This is just ridiculous. Not one person's willing to spring for Lindsay's trip? Even I'd buy her a ticket to Cannes if she'd let me . . . I just wouldn't buy her a return ticket.

You want to know how pathetic it is that Lindsay isn't at Cannes. This chick went and her lip is made out of a god damn plate:

UPDATE: TMZ is reporting that Lindsay found a taker and she's blowing off her alcohol education classes to fly to France tomorrow. Please note, the use of the words "found a taker" and "blowing" together in the preceding sentence was not a coincidence.
