Brittany Murphy's Deadline poster

And the "unlucky timing award" goes to Redbox Automated Retail, LLC. From TMZ:
A DVD rental company is moving fast to remove outdoor promotional posters of Brittany Murphy -- posed lifeless in a bathtub -- for her movie, "Deadline."

Officials from redbox -- which operates DVD kiosks around the country -- tell TMZ beginning today field teams are removing the "Deadline" box art from the kiosk displays. The officials tell us it will take 7 - 10 days to remove the image from the 19,000 kiosks nationwide.
The official from Redbox said it would take so long to remove all the posters because the 19,000 kiosks are "scattered across the country in convenient locations like gas stations, supermarkets, and convenience stores -- wherever you are, Redbox is there." OK he didn't actually say that, but shit, he might as well have. Can't a company do something good anymore without sending out a press release?

Yeah, because Brittany Murphy was clearly someone who suffered from lack of access to healthcare, being a famous(-ish) and rich(-ish) actress(-ish). Idiot/zealot/sheeperson.

We must wait for the autopsy results. Some sources are reporting that she had flu like symptoms, and we know that the H1N1 flu does kill people.

None of the reports mention that she had seen a doctor, or had medical treatment, within the few days before death. None of the reporterd prescriptions seem to be used to treat the flu. If she was sick for a week prior to her death, and had not had medical treatment in that time frame. That would suggest that she did not have access to health care. I cannot imagine someone as sick as she was reported to be not going to the doctor, if they could.

This is normal behavior for hollywood socialites. Obama-care wouldn't have saved her. But you likely think he should make all your decisions for you?

Why are drug companies allowed to advertise drugs on TV? Only doctors know the long-term effects of these drugs. Buy you should ask your doctor about all of them.

She had 10 different prescriptions under a range of names (her name, her husband's name and her mother in law's name by her bedside). What doctor would assume you were taking drugs belonging to 2 other people including your own.

Sadly, this was a case of natural selection.

President Obama is one of the wisest men in the world, he knows what is best and right. The democrats in congress are wise, intellegent and have our best interests in mind when they make laws (with Obama watching over them). They know better than the average person what is needed to be done and what we need. We can trust our new government to look after us, better than we could do it ourselves. All the celebs support the government and they are pretty smart. Before Obama we counld not trust the government, now we have hope and can trust the change. Tomorrow the wise men in the senate will pass health care reform, and maybe tragic deaths will not have to occur. Please, trust your government.

    Ah. Sarcasm loser is sarcastic.

government controls far too much of our life as it is...keep on giving up control of your life & soon there will be a king running your life & you will have zero say in your destiny!!!!!!!!!!! NO MORE GOVERMENT CONTROL PERIOD...WAKE UP ANOMYMOUS coward can't even leave an idenity of any kind!!!!!!!!! as far as miss Murphy goes this was a crying shame for someone so young and talented to pass away....she was wealthy & has a very good doctor and was under care as she was ill...what a sad loss, what a way to end a year of loss of many talented persons...2010 must be a better year

Posters that cry out the need for government run health care. Celebs, and many others, are dying because our health care system has been broken for the past eight years. Brittany is just the latest example of why we must have the government in charge of our health care delievery, adn directly overseeing each citizens health care status.

Government run healthcare would not have help Brittany Murphy, in fact it would have made things worse. Before you go spouting uneducated nonsense, talk to someone from Canada or England where they have socialized medicine and they'll tell you that it's a horrible system and that it takes months of waiting before you can treated for your problems. In our current system, she could have gone to a hospital and been taken to rehab right away had she so chosen. In a socialized healthcare system, she would be virtually ignored until her place in line came up, essentially issuing her a death sentence. But none of that is even relevant in this case because she never went to seek treatment in the first place.

Looks like somebody's been brainwashed. Didn't think it would be that easy for the gov't to accomplish, but if you seriously think and believe that the gov't is going to rescue you and give you better health care then you seriously have a screw loose.

Gov't healthcare is the equivalent of if you took your car to your local bank and asked them what the clunking noise was and told them you want a loan to get it fixed by a mechanic and then they said, "it's just the muffler, don't worry about it", no need for a loan to go to the mechanic. And then your car's engine seizes because the clunking was an engine defect. And then when you try to sue them, you won't be able to because they've got the money for lawyers - your tax money for lawyers.

    Idiot.

"it will take 7 - 10 days to remove the image from the 19,000 kiosks nationwide."

...which will be just enough time to make sure thousands of new customers rent now they've read this tacky publicity stunt.

    Sick.
