I hope David Letterman's super secret sex lover wasn't hoping for a promotion. She's pretty much been fired. From TMZ:
TMZ has learned Stephanie Birkitt -- the woman at the center of the David Letterman sex scandal -- has been banned from setting foot on the CBS set where the "Late Show" is filmed. What an ungrateful asshole. If David Letterman's going to have sex with one of his subordinates at the office, the least he can do is let her come by and pick up her work belongings (e.g. her files, pencils, and soiled underwear). Knowing that she's being forced to stay away after being used for sex must be devastating for Stephanie . . . especially since that sort of degrading treatment by guys is usually reserved for prostitutes. Or Pam Anderson.
Birkitt used to be David's assistant -- appearing on the "Late Show" numerous times -- and later became his personal attorney. It was Birkitt's ex-boyfriend -- Robert Halderman -- who discovered Letterman's secret relationship with her ... and then allegedly threatened to release the scandalous information unless Letterman forked over $2 million.
Sources tell TMZ that security at CBS is well aware of Birkitt's ban from the set.
Worldwide Pants just issued the following statement: "Stephanie is on paid leave of absence ... she has not been banned from the Ed Sullivan Theatre."
But TMZ just spoke with someone associated with security at Letterman who just told us, "Security got a verbal order that she is 'banned' from the property for the time being."

she should have given better blowjobs
You're a pig, Letterman.
He's gone from just pathetic, to pathetic old man.
she's on paid leave. . this may be to give her time away during a period of increased scrutiny (any time she spends on set for the near term future is bound to be uncomfortable for her as well as awkward for the rest of the staff
So at least CBS finally took a stand: If you bang the boss you're fired-unless the boss fires you for not banging him. Life is fair at World Wide Pants, me thinks.
It takes two to carry an affair. Stephanie didn't seem to mind possibly breaking up a marriage and family to get her nut off.
It was her bf that f*cked up the party.
She may be banned because she might have in some way been in on this scheme. All the info the guy was using to blackmail Letterman came from her. That "Oh I happened to have left my diary lying around and my mean old boyfriend stole it" doesn't fly with me.
Some how her personal information ended up with her new boyfriend who tried to black mail her boss. Two consenting adults entered into a relationship and if she went from his assistant to his attorney she must have been well paid and given plenty of time to attend and graduate law school. I think she ended up with the best of the deal, he ended being betrayed by a former girlfriend and someone who was probably well paid and liked.
I think says more about her than it does about him frankly.
David has tragic flaws just like any other man. In Europe these truths about men are embraced...that is...the right time and the right place...a man does not think clearly..his animal behavior is front and center. In USA...oh..such a deplorative act..such a scandal...! I cannot stand the narrow mind and mentality of Anglo Christian doctrine. David loves his wife and child...end of story..it was pure sex..so what!
