According to Geimer, Polanski asked Geimer's mother if he could photograph the girl for the French edition of Vogue, which Polanski had been invited to guest-edit. Her mother allowed a private photo shoot. According to Geimer in a 2003 interview, "Everything was going fine; then he asked me to change, well, in front of him." She added, "It didn't feel right, and I didn't want to go back to the second shoot."Of course, half of the world is up in arms over this arrest. And by half the world, I mean France. Geimer later agreed to a second session, which took place on March 10, 1977 at the Mulholland area home of actor Jack Nicholson in Los Angeles. "We did photos with me drinking champagne," Geimer says. "Toward the end it got a little scary, and I realized he had other intentions and I knew I was not where I should be. I just didn't quite know how to get myself out of there." She recalled in a 2003 interview that she began to feel uncomfortable after he asked her to lie down on a bed, and how she attempted to resist. "I said, ‘No, no. I don’t want to go in there. No, I don’t want to do this. No!", and then I didn’t know what else to do,” she stated.
Geimer testified that Polanski performed various sexual acts (Ed. Note: he did her up the butt) on her after giving her a combination of champagne and quaaludes.

3) Upon release, the judge in his case started hinting that maybe Polanski should serve more time, and was about to renege on his initial ruling regarding sentencing.

30 years ago. I wonder about the statue of limitations on this one. I'm wondering if it applies AFTER he's been sentenced. I would think not so, if there is no statue of limitations in effect, the guy needs to sentenced but, he should be sentenced for fleeing the country and jumping bail. There are states that sentence 13 and 14 year old kids to life in prison without any chance of parole. Some are sentenced to death. For pete's sake, Polanski spent 41 days in jail for doing more than those kids, why shouldn't he spend at least a couple of years in prison for rape.
I'm really enjoying the posts here. Since when is rape (of any girl, or woman) not rape. Read the Grand Jury transcripts. They're very interesting. The girl testified and as far as I could see, she said no. No means that if the man keeps doing what he's doing no matter where he's doing it -- IT'S RAPE!!!!
There was something in the transcripts that bothered me and that is that she said she knew he was "OFFERING" her Quaaludes and she took 1/4 of the tablet he offered. She said she knew she shouldn't have done it because she had been drinking. Now, to me, she knew a bunch of stuff that she shouldn't have been doing. Under those circumstances Polanski (who also took one) could have assumed that what she was doing, NAKED was turning him on. He asked if she was on birth control and she said no. He then took her from behind.

Back to the subject, with both of them on drugs, it should have been taken into consideration that this 13 yr old girl who knew what the drug was, because he asked her if she knew what it was, could have NOT taken the 1/4 of a pill while drinking something she was also too young to drink.
I understand that teenagers are dumb and have no sense of morality, and she had a mother with less sense than a mindless moron, who allowed her daughter who was allowed to have men and boys in her room at 0' dark thirty in the morning. A mother who had no qualms about letting her 13 year old daughter go out even before dark with a dirty old man, it would appear to me that someone the girl and the mother gave their consent to whatever would happen that particular night. It is also something that Polanski made it obvious the first time they went out of the house together that he wanted to have sex with the girl.
The girl might not have wanted to go with him the second time, but for some reason she didn't tell her mother that she didn't want to go and then she went into the house and again taken off her blouse when instructed - again! She did it on the hill the day before also. She didn't have on a bra at either meeting. She changed her clothes in front of this man who had been drinking.
I would wonder if it really was rape because she didn't cry or feel violated until she got home and was sitting on her bed with yet another older man telling him what had happened. Her mother was the last to find out and then she called the police. Was mother thinking that suing THE Roman Polanski meant she could get a lot of money? Did the girl think about the money? Did the sister? I'd want to know before I could even think of giving this man many years in prison. The way it all sounds is that he didn't even remember what happened that night.
He did plead guilty to having sex with a minor and again that gives me pause. Admitting to having sex with a minor doesn't mean he wasn't provoked by that minor.
It sure would be nice to find out ALL of the story because there is definitely something missing. This same girl (a woman now) wants to drop all the charges and let Polanski alone. Does she have good reason for wanting that now? As an adult she should now know what had happened and know that rape happens and letting this guy out, if he did rape her, would only provoke him to look for young girls once again to do the same. They won't cut off his penis so, he should go the hell to jail and become sombody's bitch so he'll understand the difference between rape and what saying no means when no one cares. Then he'd know for sure whether he raped this girl or just had sex with a willing partner.
