I respect that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but there is at least one thing some of you may be overlooking when it comes to Paris Hilton. Before she was the socialite that the media presents her as today, she was actually a pretty decent runway model. She's extremely tall, and even though many people feel that she has an unattractive face, the fact that she looks androgynous is what got her into Donald Trump's modeling agency when she was 19... and having the last name Hilton doesn't hurt either I suppose lol. I'm sure some of you will say that Trump only signed her as a favor to her dad or something like that lol, but there are many people in the fashion industry who would agree that she has a unique look. I'm not saying I like or dislike her, and I'm certainly not buying her new album as I did not care for her last one in the least, but she was a decent model back in the day, from a fashion standpoint.

Being neither a fan nor a non-fan of Paris Hilton, I did listen to her first album out of curiosity. It just was not that bad - and certainly a lot, lot better than a lot of the more successful albums by better known recording "stars" who basically scream and wail to a loud beat. Her first album was island-lyrical and sensible music compared to most of the junk that is offered to be music these days. She doesn't have a strong voice (maybe the voice coach will help there) but it wasn't unpleasant and she did sing right on key. And some of the subsequent mixes made certain songs pretty good, actually. So, some of those who pan her first album perhaps need to listen again. For what the album was, the type of music, it was very acceptable. My guess is that some people panned the album and ridiculed it only because Paris made it - if it had come out under someone else's name it probably could have gained some fans. Not all the songs are winners but that is usually the case will all albums.... i.e. only a few songs are winners and the rest stink.

I'm absolutely speechless.

Paris Hilton may be or may not be any or all of the things said about her in this post, but she gets attention and that keeps her media worthy.

Actually many celebities admit they liked her song off the first album. 'Stars Are Blind' was catchy. A lot of my friends had it on their IPods. I think she is very pretty. Ok I agree she can't act and should take lessons. But she isn't dumb either. She keeps herself in the spotlight.

It's amazing what a famous name can do for you. She is a stick with a wig on top of it. She can't act, can't sing and it seems she has trouble walking or standing normal. I guess she thinks she wants to try and model. She walks like she is constantly on a catwalk and never just stands still without trying to pose. Yet she has one thing going for her, she has fans that thrive on any type of so called celebrity. If she didn't have the family name behind her I'm very sure she would not have the celebrity status she now has. She's a joke!
