Melanie Griffith visiting a skin care salon in Hollywood (6/9)

Melanie Griffith's rep Robin Baum confirmed to Star yesterday that the actress has checked into the Cirque Lodge rehab facility in Utah (the same one Lindsay Lohan visited in 2007 and Kirsten Dunst in 2008):

"She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy. This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago."

Really? Melanie's rep thinks we're this stupid? You know what I do to reinforce my commitment to stay healthy? Pull-ups. More from Star:

But an insider tells Star that this stint in rehab is a bid to save her marriage. "She's working with the counselors on getting control of her demons."

The 52-year-old movie star has battled addictions to drugs and booze since she was a teenager and she's had several previous stints in rehab. But her latest fall off the wagon is the last straw for her husband of 13 years, Antonio Banderas.

"The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober," another source tells Star. "He told her that if she didn't get the help she needed it would be the end of their marriage."

Can you imagine how much tail Antonio would run through in Hollywood if he wasn't married [to a chick whose face belongs in a Picasso painting]? Deep down, you just know he's hoping Melanie doesn't clean up. "Melanie, Antonio sent you another care package. There's homemade chocolate chip cookies, candy, and five bottles of vodka."
