What?, youre concened that if too many "obese" americans die there will be no US military to bail europes sorry ass out (again) when the muslims finally start WWIII
Whippet
I have difficulty to comprehend your inane comment. This is not an America vs. Europe debate. This is not intended to be insulting towards the US. If you have missed that you have predictably missed the point of these posts.
Since you bring it up though, and if you have the capacity to read newspapers, you would've known how the US Army and USMC are struggeling with obese troops:
I'll agree with you that far too many Americans are overweight and that it is an epidemic. However, let's be honest, here. Reese Witherspoon is probably all of a size 6, maybe? Ask any doctor, European or American, and they'll tell you that someone her height and size is by no means overweight. She could probably be more in shape, yes, but just because someone is not completely toned doesn't make them overweight.
Also, the American perception of what "normal" is depends on who you ask, so please don't generalize Americans like that, and, in turn, I won't assume you have bad teeth. Fair?
Whippet
Point taken Anon, except, as you know there are known measurments like the BMI and Body Fat Index, which we don't need to argue about. It is a statistical classification.
Anon, the point I want to make: there has been a definite shift in the eye of the American public what is regarded as "normal". I have been around long enough to perceive this shift since the eighties, alongside the creeping up of the national average in America. Slowly but surely, Americans (especially teens) are more and more accepting slightly obese body types as "normal".
THIS is my concern.

Just so I'm clear, you're saying that you think Reese Witherspoon's BMI classifies her as overweight? She's 5'2", and roughly 130 lbs. Do the calculations yourself, and you'll see she's within the normal range. You said yourself that that should be the standard for normal. By your own statement, she's not overweight, so, in the future, let's not be so quick to label, ok?
In the same vein, yes, there is an alarming number of Americans who view being overweight as being normal, and I understand your concern. However, my concern is for those who see people like you calling this obviously normal woman fat and taking their weight to the other extreme because they're afraid that people will think they're fat when they are perfectly healthy.
The only point I'm trying to make is, sure, call the actual fat people fat, but leave the truly normal ones alone.
By the way, look up some of the information on obesity statistics in the UK. I'll grant you that the US is #1 on every list, but England and Scotland are quickly catching up. There are plenty of Europeans dying of obesity related issues. 'A situation existing nowhere else in the world.' Seems like I read that somewhere...

Oh right and the european people are soooo healthy??
Most of the ones I've met should have already died from infections in their teeth reaching their brains!
She looks like a Healthy mother of 2.

You and I can probably quote each other anecdotes of unhealthy Europeans you have met, and I can quote you instances of meeting healthy, in-shape Americans until we are blue in the face.
Except, you see there is this nasty thing called 'overwhelming statistics', or 'the truth' as you may call it. Americans are dying in tonnes from obesity-related diseases, second only to smoking. It is now termed by the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) to be a pandemic.
This, my malinformed friend, is a situation existing nowhere else in the world.
Savvy?

and just get a life and stop posting on this

yes we have a problem with obesity. i think the point that you're missing is that....she's not obese

@smg45acp
Whoa there! Now you are taking it to the other extreme. Nowhere did any of us say that!
You prove my point though: what I and most people here in Europe and outside the US see as clearly out of shape and overweight, you deem as "normal". Do you see how your perception of normal may continue to contribute to obesity-related disease being the second biggest killer in America after smoking? Do you know that eating disorders or anorexia doesn't even feature on this list? Why are Americans so in denial about this? It is a pandemic!
I know you try to be nice and politically correct (I hope) but this is not what is supposed to be "normal".
smg45acp
What is wrong with you sick people?
Any woman that doesn't look like an Auschwitz survivor or a 13 year old Olympic gymnast, you think looks fat.
This woman looks perfectly normal and healthy.
Whippet
Oukay, so it will be up to me to call a spade a spade. Or to call a spade a fucking shovel.
This women is fat and out of shape. She looks like a "real woman"? What does that mean? Has the overwhelming statistics of obese people in America moved the perception of what normal is? Here in Europe, this is not what a "real woman" looks like! Sorry guys, I don't want to insult Americans, but I have noticed over the years this alarming "drift" in perception of what skinny and fat is.
James
Nice. This is what a real woman looks like.
guru pitka
Actually, kinda nice to see a woman NOT covered in ugly tats.
Josh
She´s never been hot... but I´d hit it like a drum... if she´s wearing the catholic school uniform from "Cruel Intentions"
Jake
I'd still give her a poke. She's still a MILF.
Jason Glover
I think she looks good for someone who's had two kids. Maybe work on getting that butt in better shape, But I would still would liek to get my hands on her body.
jesse
Her body looks like she's had two kids. But then, so has Denise Richards, etc and they aren't all flabby and frumpy. $20mil to look at that? I don't think so.
