Jamie Spears out and about in New York (12/2)

Despite what most of the major celebrity outlets want you to believe (Did you hear? Britney's back!), all is not well in Britney Spears' life. The pop star is at war with her "controlling" father Jamie. Britney's allegedly furious with him for forcing her to go to Europe over Thanksgiving to promote her new album when she wanted to spend time at home with her kids. An insider told the National Enquirer:

"Britney did not want to go on tour and fought with her father from the time they flew to Germany on Nov. 24. She was so angry that she took Valium just to stay calm on the plane ride across the Atlantic. She wanted to stay home and spend Thanksgiving with her boys Jayden and Sean. She even complained that she'd hurt her knee and couldn't perform. But Jamie insisted that she go."

But at least during the trip Jamie gave Britney her space and let her have a little fun, right? Right?

"Jamie took Britney's cell phone and went through all her calls and text messages. If she wanted to use the phone she had to ask permission and someone would dial the number for her. The phone in her hotel was blocked from making overseas calls. Britney yelled and screamed at her dad for taking over her life, but Jamie just old her to take a pill and go to sleep. That's his answer to Britney's rage." (Print Edition - 12/15)

I feel so bad for Britney. It sounds like her father is imposing the harsh realities of prison life. If he really wants her to feel like an inmate, he'll start paying her in cigarettes and teaching her how to not use her teeth. Call me crazy but perhaps it isn't the best idea to keep a recovering drug addict hopped up on pills. Although there is one benefit to her stomach being filled with prescriptions: it isn't filled with fetuses.
