i doubt very much that hge we be able to do very much with his presidency, because it is not going to be about anything other than: he's black; this is the begining of change, change that will never seem to come; and yes, everyones favourite topic, socialism. this will be a media presidency. everyone (being the media) will want to know how he feels about being the first black president, and so on, that he won't be able to do anything else. if he wants to start all the change that he say that he does, the first thing that he will need to do is leash the media dog.

hahah, spot on Alan, I'm afraid. Nothing "BIG" will be changing in the US the way the people are thinking it is. So we have the rest of the world loving us now, yippee!!! I guess with all that love they also are ALREADY asking for help and handouts, awaiting the "love" they will get from our government. Look at the front pages, every other country in the world now thinks that they had a say in this election, they've seen how big of two-faced POS's American's are since we have put Bush down so much and stepped all over one of our OWN that TRULY loves the US, who has NEVER said anything wrong, NOT ONCE, about any of the fools that constantly berate him every chance given. And yes, what do you say that in 10 years Iraq is a free, democratically ran government that controls herself and takes care of her people....I would say these odds are pretty damn good considering what our military has done for them....at least it is now TRULY up to them themselves to decdide their fate. And who gave them that BASIC HUMAN RIGHT? Ahh yes, President George W Bush. So, in 10 years, do you think with that happening that Bush will be looked at in history as a fool who made a mistake like the DEMOCRATS did in Vietnam, or that he will be remembered as the President who FREED an entire nation and GAVE THEM A CHOICE?!?!

We see what choice we have given ourselves, with President-Elect Obama. Now, only the test of time will prove his merit and see if this was indeed a "historical" election in the GOOD SENSE.

Look, I didn't vote for him either, but now that he's in....I will support him 100% UNTIL he gives me reason to doubt his "expertice" I hear so much about, but have yet to see.....we will see.

So lets give the guy a chance, if he screws the pooch, at least you can say that ANOTHER candidate such as himself will most likely NOT happen in our lifetimes.

And if you believe that this is filling "biblical prophecies", then you shouldn't worry.....our father will come get us when he's ready and this is a blessing then! Anytime sooner I can excape to his glory will be most welcome out of this madness here on earth!

Anom., you are a moron. If you belong to the "lower middle class", you will be better off under Obama. And your tax system already redistributes wealth - this is what a graduated tax system is all about. People that are so easily swayed with "OMG, he is a SOCIALIST! Burn him!" make me very sad for Americans.
As for the "change" that he will bring, it is stupid to expect that everything will change overnight/ in one month/ in one year, and everyone will be rich and happy. His realistic goal is to show that the people, IF they involve, CAN have the power to change the policies of their country. He will by no means do this alone, but at least he is willing to give it a try and not continue the cycle of greed and self-help.
If anything, all of you Americans should be proud, because you have a chance to be taken seriously again by the rest of the world. If you haven't understood it yet - until now, you were getting to be a joke and a nuisance.

College students, welfare cases, and so-called minorities that vote for someone just because of their skin color are some of the largest groups of these ignorant masses. Anom., what you call "serf mentality" for some reason, is plain realism. And, by the way - I OWN a small business, so trust me - you have no idea what you're talking about. The tax credits for small business owners under Obama will make a difference, and I wish (for the first time) that I lived in the states. This has nothing to do with punishing the producers, this is simply what has to be done for the better of YOUR country. And, by the way, most of the people making more than $250K a year, the people that actually have an education - they support Obama. And not because they themselves will be better off in the short run, but because they realize that it is for the better of the country and for the future.

What is best for the country is less government intervention! Less government in our lives! Sure there are some elitists out there that make more than 250K a year who vote democrat. But I would say there are more people who believe in rugged individualism! The more big brother is in our lives the less individual freedoms we have! That is just a fact! That is what I am about! We don't need universal health care! We don't need the government to dip into our 401K's! We don't need the fairness doctrine! We don't need more government regulation! We do need to be left the hell alone! That includes by snobby ass elitist foreigners! Most of the individuals of this country are more than willing to go through life with out big brother looking over there shoulder or with out there help!
