Amy Winehouse has brain damage
Remember when Amy Winehouse was rushed to the hospital in late July after suffering a bad reaction to medication? I know this is shocking and a little hard to take this early in the morning but it turns out she actually overdosed on hash. Doctors fear her 36-hour binge may have actually resulted in brain damage. A friend of Amy's told The Sun:
"The future is bleak, bleak, bleak. [Amy's father] Mitch does everything he can to protect his daughter - but his explanation' for Amy's hospital dash in July was just simply untrue. She had smoked an inhuman amount of hash which resulted in acute cannabis poisoning. You have to take a shitload of pot to suffer that severe a reaction. It's thought she had been smoking it for 36 hours. Amy's fits were as bad as the convulsions she had during her overdose in August last year. No one has mentioned her meth use before – but that stuff is truly nasty. She is in need of years of psychiatry and medical treatment if she has a hope." (Source)
This story really isn't all that surprising. The fact that Amy Winehouse nearly ODed one night by taking "inhuman" amounts of drugs is sort of a given. Now, if the article had followed up by saying that Amy has since checked into rehab for an unhealthy addiction to Crest White Strips and Proactiv facial cream, THAT would have been a story . . . and the second sign of the Apocalypse.
Animal tests have revealed that extremely high doses of cannabinoids are needed to have lethal effect. This has led scientists to conclude that the ratio of the amount of cannabinoids necessary to get a person intoxicated (i.e., stoned) relative to the amount necessary to kill them is 1 to 40,000. In other words, to overdose, you would have to consume 40,000 times as much marijuana as you needed to get stoned. In contrast, the ratio for alcohol varies between 1 to 4 and 1 to 10. It is easy to see how upwards of 5000 people die from alcohol overdoses every year and no one EVER dies of marijuana overdoses.
Im sure the heroin, the crack, and the meth had nothing to do with this. marijuana can not and does not cause permanent brain damage, so this source is bullshit
I have never seen or heard someone that really has OD on any cannabinoid.
I have read the bullshit about others (like this story) OD'ing but it is always bullshit.
