Does anyone listen to Lynne Spears anymore? Seriously? Every time she talks, I can't help but think of the teacher from Charlie Brown yapping away. Anyways, Lynne is pissed the media is treating VP-hopeful Sarah Palin's pregnant teenage daughter, Bristol, different from her own pregnant teenage daughter, Jamie Lynn. From the most recent issue of Newsweek:

But more recently, 17-year-old Bristol Palin, and her mother, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate, found themselves in a similar situation. And the public reaction has been different.Lynn Spears: It's a totally different reaction. It's as if [Sarah Palin] became celebrated. I mean, the mother, Palin, was celebrated for this. Every woman in the world has applauded her strength and her convictions and poor little old Jamie Lynn—you saw how she was crucified. Everybody did, firsthand ... Both bristol and jamie lynn are very strong girls and the only reason jamie is getting dogged on is because of all the shit brit has done. But all and all palin seems to be a good mom. Lynne your just a gold digger and are using you children to do all the thing you couldnt!

I say that the girls both made bad choices, but let us all be honest, sex happens. Both girls are living with the choices they made and lets not forget the guys involved in this either. Why thrust the girls into the spotlight to make examples out of them while the guys sit behind the scenes. Please let me remind you that the guys had an active part in the baby making process. Jamie Lynn appears to be being a wonderful mother despite her only 17 years, and I guess time will only tell with Bristol. I don't think the girls should be celebrated for having children. I think that they should be if nothing else be respected for being strong women and embracing their children with loving arms. Age wont determine if you are a good mom, your strength of character will.

It is absolutely disgusting and hypercritical how fickle Americans are (sorry if that offends), and it shows how being rich and powerful and calling yourself "CHRISTIAN" realy does buy you respect in America.
There is absolutely NO difference between the situation of either girl falling pregnant at a young age, keep the kid and saying they will marry the father.
And yet the daughter of the rich, powerful and CHRISTIAN politician gets sympathy and her daughter gets admired for her strength and dedication to the child!

I have more respect for Britney's sister then I do this rich, little prep kid. Atleast Britney's sister is actually going struggle, while this rich kid has a mansion and money coming out her mother's ass.
Yes both girls had underage sex (by America law anyway) and yes they were morons for obviously not using protection and they made mistakes and now have to live with it.
But its disgusting how one girl gets ripped into because she has a messed up mother and sister, while the other one gets admired because her mother is rich and powerful!!!

Lets not forget that lynn was a star on a kid tv show. she was a role model to alot of young kids. Palin daughter is not.
