Brad Pitt announced yesterday he's donating $100,000 to the group opposing California's Proposition 8, the referendum seeking to ban gay marriage in the state. Pitt's been quoted in the past as saying he and Angelina Jolie won't get married until it's legal for everyone. In a statement, the actor said:
"Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn't harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8." (Source)
Why is Brad opposing this referendum? As long as gays don't have the right to marry, he doesn't have to marry Angelina. If I was Brad, I'd be promoting this ban night and day, getting thousands of signatures for petitions, and giving inspirational speeches at rallies. Another thing I'd do if I was Brad: 75 chicks at the same time.

Not to belittle the rights of gay marriage (im all for it), but why does that issue deserve $100,000? or even more so ONLY $100,000?
The mans a millionaire, he probably spends $100,000 on loo-role every week. Do the starving 3rd countries or the unemployeed or homeless not deserve any donations?
Im sorry but I think there are more important issues in the world then whether two men or two women can get married. Just go to another state or another country and get hitched and give your donations to more worth while things.

yay! I think that is amazing.. I think homosexuals have every right to be married. Just because you are gay doesn't make you any less of a person. I think that was so worth the money because it's still a big issue. People need to be more openminded and get the fuck out of anyone elses business! Im also not suggesting gay marriage isnt a great thing (it is), my point is that its not a life threatening situation if two men cant get married in a certain state of America.
If they cant tie the knot in one state then go to another, or come to england and get married in a castle in the lush country side.
There are FAR more important issues in this world which need donating too then gay marriage including homeless issues, aids and cancer research, starving children in 3rd world countries, etc etc.
Also where exactly does this $100,000 go? what is it paying for? how is it helping gay couples? I dont understand why a "campaign" needs that much money while some child in Africa is dieing every 5 seconds!
Now Steven Speilburg has jumped on the PR donation bandwagon and I think its sick because their not doing it for their values, they are doing it to look good and because $100,000 to them is NOTHING.
I bet if you asked them to donate 1 million to cancer research or to dig wells in a 3rd country you would get hung up on!
