Don Imus Pacman Jones comments . . . what an idiot!

But he looks so tolerant and understanding . . .

Remember the controversy surrounding Don Imus last year when he called the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos"? He doesn't. The radio host had some rather interesting remarks about embattled NFL player Adam "Pacman" Jones this morning . . . and by interesting I mean "cross-burning" . . . that's an adjective, right?

For those of you without speakers, here's a transcript:

[Newsman Warner Wolf]: "Defensive back Adam 'Pacman' Jones, recently signed by the Cowboys -- here's a guy suspended all of 2007 following a shooting in a Vegas nightclub --

IMUS: "Well, stuff happens, you're in a nightclub for God's sake. What do you thinks gonna happen in a nightclub? People are drinking, they're doing drugs, there are women there, and, uh, people have guns."

Let me interrupt for a second . . . *scratches head* . . . where are these nightclubs Don Imus is going to? That sounds like something out of Saigon, circa 1965.

WOLF: "He's also, he's been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005."

IMUS: "What color is he?"

WOLF: "He's African American."

IMUS: "[chuckle] There you go, OK, now we know."

I still can't get over that thing about the nightclub. You could quote Jesus Christ himself and still not sound as old as Don did with that comment.

What's the big deal? Don Imus isn't allowed to have an opinion because he's not politically correct? Maybe he's a stupid racist, but he does have the right to say what he says. Speech should never be banned, no matter what's being said.

Carlos, why is he "stupid racist"? Blacks are more likely to be involved in just about every crime. It's not racist to point out a statistic.

Do I have the right to shoot the fucker in the head? See, I'm getting my rights trampled as a gay, lesbian, handicapped, quadriplegic, blind, illiterate amputee. Fuck you all.

David, I'm not saying he is or he isn't, you missed the point completely.

yea i'd have to say he didn't use a slur like "Ho" like before. tho judgemental. but who isn't in radio.

the whole thing made me laugh however

What an asshole. He has his freedoms, I've got mine, and I just exercised them.

The truth hurts!

I hate to speak in his defence, because he sounds like a dooshbag, but isnt this the same website announced this little story..

http://celebslam.celebuzz.com/heidi-spencer-guns/

...about these two complete idiots being allowed to spend somet like $10,000 on weapons and yet you want to question Mr IMUS's belief that everyone in clubs have a gun?

Now if Heidi and Spencer (two of the most upper class, spoilt morons in America) can own a gun, wouldnt they also be stupid enough to probably take one with them to a club?

I hate to say it... but I think this guy is right and you only have your moronic America gun laws to blame for it.

SNS, as dumb as they are, Heidi and what's his face bought guns LEGALLY. People who are registered gun owners tend not to commit crimes. The problem with gun crimes in America aren't American gun laws. The problem is people like Pacman Jones. He's a bad guy who hangs around with bad guys.

Carlos answer me this question....

....why would a person buy spend $10,000 legally on guns if they didnt intend to buy and carry atleast ONE small piece and intended to carry that piece around with them for (what they feel is) self defense?

This is why its actually not that far from the truth to say that in America a lot of people probably do carry weapons into clubs, bars and restaurants.

It isnt just people who intend to commit crimes who carry weapons, its also people who feel they need to defend themselvs against those criminals.

A lot of kids in the UK carry knifes because they feel safer doing so, due to the increase in knife crime. But that doesnt mean they intend to use it or commit a crime with that knife.

I expect it is true to say a lot of Americans carry guns into clubs or bars because they feel safer doing so, and have NO intention to use it but might find themselves in a fight, drunk and pull it out without realising and then shoot someone.

Yet the America attitude is that its better to legally carry a weapon to defend yourself because the criminals all carry them. It doesnt matter whether you carry a weapon with intend or for self defense, because you are still carrying someone intended to kill.

SNS, you assume too much about legal gun owners. IF carry a gun outside of your home without a carrier's permit, then that weapon becomes illegal. Most gun owners only have home permits, and that's excactly where they keep them. To have a carrier's permit you have to prove to the police that you need to have it. You might be a body guard or work as a security guard, etc. Like I said before, legal gun owners tend to stay out of trouble with their weapons. I'm too lazy to look it up, but there are goverment websites with that sort of information. Also, I'm sure the NRA has a website you can check out. You're jumping to conclusions about guns in America, dude.

"What do you thinks gonna happen in a nightclub? People are drinking, they’re doing drugs, there are women there, and, uh, people have guns.”

To the writer: I find this an accurate description of almost every nightclub I have ever been in. What the hell kind of "clubs" are you going to ?
Hell, that description even applies to GAY night clubs...

Carlos carrying knifes in the UK is illegal, as im sure it is in America and yet we have an increasing level of knife crime in this country.

As a result young people feel they have to carry a knife (some people I know infact) to protect themselves. It doesnt matter whether its illegal or not to carry it because people (in all parts of the world) have a mentality of...

"oh they police wont stop me, they never do".

...i'm sure it wouldnt be untrue for me to suggest that 10% of people in bars and nightclubs in the Uk are carrying a knife on a night out, and I expect NONE

Sorry the damn website posted that before it was finished....

continues....I expect NONE of those people want to hurt anyone or have any intention to use it, but they feel scared enough to risk carrying one.

Are you going to suggest that the same mentality and behaviour doesnt happen in America? in posh clubs and bars?

I expect a small number of law-biding, upstanding members of society in America carry a weapon (knife, gun or otherwise) around with them illegally purely for protection.

This is why im suggesting this Imus (is that really his name?) guy probably isnt that far from the truth in suggesting people do carrying weapons in clubs in America (whether it be posh clubs or back the alley clubs).

We live in a world where people are scared not to protect themselves and willing to risk carrying weapons illegally to do it.

Im not suggestion there is a huge epidemic in America where ALL people carry weapons, but im sure a small majority do illegally or legally when going on a night out.

I just think its a bit rediculious this website jumps on this guy and tries to behave so niave and pretend like this is a nice world where people dont carry weapons (legally or illegally, with intend or without intend).

This isnt a world where just because your posh and polite and go to flashy clubs, your unlike to carry a weapon.
