Just once I'd like to see one of these dumb celebrities keep their promise and move to another country. You didn't happen to read the most important part of the of the Pew study, the methodology. It was a phone survey of 2000 people, question, when were the calls made? At what time? Mid day, evening, morning? How many didn't want to, or have time to participate? And then there is this little gem, "In addition to sampling error, one should bear in mind that question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of opinion polls." Hmmm, interesting.
The GSS survey, that I had to find on my own since you sited a blog and not the GSS website, anyway, again you have to look at methodology, granted GSS has been taking surveys since 1972, and have been doing it face to face for that long. It is a large survey, covering everything from abortion to medication that turns kids into zombies. Again what time were the surveys taken, how many declined to take the survey, etc. Let's just look at the link provided, a 7% difference in vocabulary between liberals and conservatives, and a 4% difference between republicans and democrats, that's grasping at straws if you ask me.
I don't blame her. Four more years of imperialism under McCain, a man who admittedly has no idea how basic economic theory works, is pretty scary. After Bush has run this country into the ground, just like he did with every company he ever ran, we need someone who has a grasp of economic theory and policy as well as the vision to get us out of our domestic and international messes. The conservatives who are running the country are acting out the "liberal" values they claim to hate (spending $ like crazy, engaging in nepotism in their business practices, going into debt and engaging in empire building to "spread democracy") and the liberals want to rein in spending and focus on domestic concerns as opposed to empire building. Just because the article you cited states that liberals have higher degrees, does not mean they have a higher IQ. There is no correlation that states that high degree = higher IQ. I know plenty of highly intelligent people that own companies that never finished college because instead they decided to make money. The only thing a higher degree does for you, is give YOU the opportunity to sit around and flaunt it and CLAIM your IQ went up because you have a higher degree.
