I didn't know Heidi Montag's dad was Richard Gere either
onday night's season premiere of The Hills was watched by 4.69 million people too many. Us Weekly explains:
The season premiere of The Hills Monday night was the highest rated episode of the series ever, according to MTV. With an average of 4.7 million viewers, the premiere was the most watched program across all of TV for viewers aged 12 to 34 and the highest rated cable telecast of 2008. An additional 1.8 million streams of the show were delivered on Tuesday by MTV.com. (Source)
Everyone said I was crazy when I built the bomb shelter under my place and started hoarding toilet paper. Sure it's been expensive installing the blast doors and hard-wiring the ventilation system, but it's clear now that my planning will undoubtedly pay off. Because if an episode of The Hills can be the highest rated cable show of the year, it can only mean one thing: Jesus is coming . . . soon.

Wow. You've got to be kidding me.
Please tell me you've got some extra room in that shelter of yours!
seriously Tom i am ill. THIS SHOW BITES!!
Im 25 and I can honestly say that I have NEVER once watched this, and when it is on MTV I very quickly change the channel. But then im british... maybe we're not doosh bags like Americans.
"I didn’t know Heidi Montag’s dad was Richard Gere either"
That's exactly what I was thinking! haha
Why do I have to be a doosh bag? Ive seen a few episodes but only because my girlfriend use to watch it. The show drives me insane. Have actually had a friend tell me he was visiting cali and saw them shooting and took about 10 takes on one convo. If thats not reality, I dont know what is.
They film multiple takes of scenes. It's not even a secret anymore. It's like that show is "Loosely based on true events".
I like that the young teens were driving up the viewer numbers. I guess they'll have this night to remember when they get shipped to Iraq in 6 years, or can't afford college or can't get health insurance or a mortgage. At least they saw the Hills premiere.
