Britney Spears steals lighter from gas station

Panties last month, a Bic this month. Britney Spears stole a $1.39 lighter while walking out of an L.A. Chevron over the weekend. After a paparazzo told Britney she "forgot" to pay for the lighter, Spears turned to the camera and said, "I stole something. Oh, I'm bad. Ohhhhh!" The owner of the gas station Jatinder Kaur told People magazine:

"Yes, Britney stole a blue lighter here last night. The lighter is $1.39. I'm hoping maybe the next time she comes back she will pay for it. I know she can afford to pay for it, but I'm not planning to file a police report. It's still not right for her to steal the lighter. I hope she will do the right thing the next time she comes here." Britney's right. In the grand scheme of things, theft really isn't such a terrible thing . . . when compared to child abuse, reckless driving, and a drug addiction. You might even say Britney's finally starting to recover. I predict by next week she'll almost be back to "normal" and will only be cutting herself. Speaking of the Spears family, anyone know when Jamie-Lynn turns 18? Oops--I meant that last line to be inner dialogue.
