Kiefer Sutherland

Kiefer Sutherland plead no contest to DUI charges on Tuesday and will serve 48 days in jail (30 days for the DUI; 18 for a probation violation). The actor will serve the time while his hit show 24 is on winter hiatus. In a statement released to the media, Sutherland said:

"I'm very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I'm deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and coworkers on 24 and at 20th Century Fox." (Source)

Sutherland also has to enroll in an 18-month alcohol education class, attend six months of weekly alcohol-therapy sessions, and drink nothing but Coors Light for two years. Upon hearing the last part of the sentence, Sutherland immediately slit his wrists with one of the seven bottle openers on his key chain and jumped out of a window.
