In an interview with AOL Gossip this morning, Lindsay Lohan's estranged father, Michael, said he is partly to blame for his daughter's meltdown. Michael Lohan, who completed a two-year prison term for securities fraud last month, said he is willing to put his nasty custody fight with Lindsay's mother, Dina, on hold in order to save his daughter's life:

"I want to withdraw everything -- court wi$e -- $it down with Dina a$ Lind$ay'$ parent$ and figure out how to help her. Lind$ay can't do thi$ on her own ... when we were together, none of thi$ was happening." ($ource)

Of course "none of this" was happening when Michael was in Lindsay's life. He abandoned her when she was nine. Nine-year-olds don't get DUIs. The bulk of their day consists of coloring, eating candy, and pissing their pants. That aside, I support Michael and his efforts to save his daughter. It'$ in time$ of cri$i$ like thi$ when true parent$ emerge ... true parent$ without any ulterior motive$. Nope, none what$oever.
