Apparently there's an ongoing war between Clay Aiken fans ("Claymates") over his sexuality. The infighting has gotten so bad that the "Official Fan Club Message Board" at clayonline.com had to shut down because of "extensive unrest and disrespect amongst members." A "Claynation" insider revealed:
"The war is between the batty members that are still clinging to their heterosexual fantasies of him and others that don't harbor such illusions." Aiken's sexuality has been a subject of speculation ever since several men came out publicly and said they'd met him in gay chat rooms and had relations with him. Aiken has always refused to discuss his inclinations. (Source)
I think this goes without saying but, Jesus H. Christ, this is the gayest fight in history ... yes even worse than that time my roommate and I got into it over whether we should watch Grey's Anatomy or Will & Grace. I slapped him. He slapped me. I pulled his hair. He pulled mine. I did one of those finger snap thingies. It was on.

I realize it does absolutely no good to refute or try to set any of these crapsites straight, but the conflict was NOT over the questioning of his sexuality but, in fact, over a particular article from a tabloid that was brought over to the message board which is in direct violation of the TOU’s. Mr Aiken himself made sure the message board was put back up, which it was first thing Monday morning. As usual, the entire thing has been blown way out of proportion. You people just don’t quit, do you?
Im glad that was straightened out, thanks. Most people would rather go with the rumor than the truth. Im a Clay fan, and don't care about his sexuality..love his voice.
both of you are dumb. the whole point of this stuff is for gossip reasons not to tell the "true facts". its all for fun. its not like they personally know them and want to put them down. obviously people like reading "these crap sites" or else they would not exist

Bee, number one, he apparently doesn't want all the "glitz and glam" as he moved from L.A. back to his hometown. Secondly, being in the public eye in no way should allow gossip mongers to smear someone's good name.
too late for that, should of thought about that before he went on Americas number one show. and i do agree with you that just because you are famous does not mean people should talk about you but if that was the case then know one would be famous. you only get famous when "gossip mongers" talk about you, does not matter if it is good or bad.
