50 Cent cashes in

Rapper 50 Cent is $100 million richer this morning. VitaminWater maker Glaceau was just bought by beverage giant Coca-Cola for $4.1 billion dollars. 50 acquired a small equity interest in Glaceau after the company named "Formula 50" energy drink after him. The New York Post reports:

A year ago, Forbes profiled Fitty, who parlayed his thug image into a business empire including a deal with Glaceau, which named a flavor after him in exchange for equity in the company. The rapper said he thought the label had promise and could one day be gobbled up by Coke. Now, Coca-Cola's $4.1 billion agreement to buy Glaceau, maker of Vitamin Water, is making him $100 million richer. (Source)

$100 Million? On the streets, we call that "Fuck You Money" ... as in "Fuck you, I'll coat the outside of my house with as many bald eagle feathers as I want" or "Fuck you, I'll drive around this 1 MPG tractor as much as I want" ... What, those aren't the first two things you'd do if you had $100 mill?

50 is a fasinating business man. it seems everything he touches turns to gold (or should i say millions) yo send me his email address or phone number so he can advise me on how to invest my money.

Life is fair.

WOW, 50 is the smartest rapper I've seen so far...he will soon be richer than Diddy, Jay, Dupri, and the rest after making so much money is such a short amount of time. He's accomplished in a very short time what took the rest of these guys over 10 years.

you guys tend to forget 50 has been at this since at least 1996 via the Jam Master Jay cosign. That's when I first heard of him and he's been pushin ever since. Not because you don't see someone lambasted with press means that they haven't been working the entire time.

Just to be fair though, the dob for music usually starts when you have your debut album. I'm sure Jay-Z was selling CD's and had side projects before he came out with his debut album, but the clock started ticking for him when reasonable doubt came out.

50, he's a dirty vato, but I like that homes, I like that.

50 couldn't have done it without people like diddy, russell, and jay to pave the way. This sh*t would have never happened 10 years ago!
get money!

Who says doing what you want and how you want is not a path to wealth? When people talk about money they say "You have to please others and be a servant to your fans". HE got his paper staying true to his craft. Him taking rap competion serious made the one's who don't look like a joke. You can't like everyone, so when he identifies his enemies you have to respect THE ART OF WAR. So make friends with 50 or stay out of his way!!!!

The question is: what will fitty leave behind????

Will create a system of wealth and success for his family? Like raise his son into the "business" and pass the "Fitty" empire and legacy off to him so that everybody will still be talking about "Fitty's" empire 50-60 years from now??? Can he build an empire or legacy like that of the Kennedy's, Rockefeller's and even Trump with his son and daughter working in his empire to eventually take it over and keep Trump a household name for many decades to come???

Those are the real questions.....

Wow, hard to believe this colored sugar water is making so many people so rich! Pretty hilarious if you ask me.

the say he's no good cause he's so hood. it's all about the money, money, money, money cake G-unit don,t play we rap but we strap buck got the shotgun 50 got the mac prrrr.i like how 50 thinks about money caus that is the only thing that make the world go round no money no live and now he has billions of dollars more then they other rappers i think and that is not the only stop in three years

IF 50 CENT IS THE BEST OF THE WORSE THEN GOD'S GIFT IS A CURSE. I KNOW TRULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT HE MEANT WHEN HE SAID.
" GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN "

Curtis Jackson is now worth a crapload more than his name implies. Coca-Cola just purchased Glaceau Vitamin Water for $4.1 billion, and since 50 owns 10% of Glaceau, our man just made a cool $400 million.
