Tom Cruise's past and future ex-wives met recently and thankfully the Universe did not collapse within itself. Katie Holmes and Nicole Kidman were both dining at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills when they randomly bumped into each other. From a diner who witnessed the event:

"Nicole went up to Katie's table briefly and said hello," another diner told the mag. "They were both very polite."

eanwhile back at the Cruise household, Tom is being his usual unpredictable self, firing several members of his staff, including a personal assistant and a caterer:

"They made minor mistakes," an insider told the mag. "Tom was being irrational." (Source)

Us Magazine considers that irrational? I'm glad no one caught me slapping my mother-in-law last week for not taking her shoes off before going to bed in her "special" room. "You're gonna dirty up the crawl space with those nasty shoes," I yelled, waiving a tire iron menacingly in the air, "I’m not going to sprain my wrist on the next black eye!" Dr. Phil was right, tough love bordering on assault is sometimes what's needed to get your message across.
