John Mayer and Jessica Simpson are officially a couple. The two were seen publicly making out at a New Year's party thrown by Christina Aguilera. According to a source, "it wasn't subtle." The very public display of affection ends months of speculation about the two. The source also reveals:

"John has been thrilled that they have been tricking the media, but she doesn't really care. His Christmas present to her was a framed copy of the Us Weekly cover that says 'Dumped: John ditches Jessica.'"

John really lucked out since Jessica is probably the easiest person in Hollywood to buy Christmas presents for. You could get her something like a shiny fishing lure and she'd be entertained for a week. Even something like a big box for her to explore would give you some time to yourself. She's basically the human equivalent of a cat.
