Kate Winslet revealed on BBC Radio that she tries to keep celebrity magazines away from her 6-year-old daughter Mia. Winslet considers the ubiquitous images of rail-thin celebrities "unbelievably disturbing”:
"It's so disturbing, because young girls are impressionable from 11 up to 19 or 20, even. Women are very impressionable at those ages," she said. "They're trying to figure out who they are, and they want to be loved, and what I resent is that there is an image of perfection that is getting thinner and thinner, and it's truly upsetting to me."
Typical reaction from a fatty. Criticize those who are skinnier than you. This reminds me of the people at my gym making fun of my strength. Just because I can bench 500 pounds doesn’t make me a freak. Now if you want to bring up my pierced testicles, I'll certainly entertain that argument.

I don't think Kate Winslet is jealous. What she wanted to say its that magazines and fashion have big impact and influence young girls. Some become anorexics to gain the ideal that is impose by magazine and died of it. Shes at normal weight, she probably eat normally and do exercices. What she wants to say its that magazine force young people to have a deformated vision of the reality instead of promotion healty ways to be in health. Most of the models on shows are lower that the minimum that is considered healty in weight.
Kate should shut up and regurgitate her dinner... she needs to lose a few pounds!

okay, well the person who started this apparently has no life whatsoever that to bash an amazing actress who is no where near over weight & whats wrong with her not wanting her daughter to see the tabloids, i wouldnt either considering that half of the celebrities are so disgustingly skinny & why would kate be jealous of that?, so theres no reason why you should ever make fun of kate for what she does/doesnt let her kids do. Kate used to be a favorite actress of mine. Nowadays I get slightly irritated when she goes out in public with this beauty means any size crap. Its true, she looks bigger than the typical a-list celeb but she is in no way fat, or ugly. Give her the benefit of a doubt and shes trying to help girls see a little more weight as beautiful but its coming from someone who does not look that bad at all. Its like saying, Marilyn Monroe was a fat cow but she was still the biggest sex goddess. Some women are skinny, some women are skinny but look a little bigger. These women are still not equal to obese and people who truly have a problem. Be more realistic Kate.
