artha Stewart claims she still doesn't understand why she was thrown in jail:
"When I say I really don't know what I was accused of, I mean that," Stewart tells Life magazine. "It was a very difficult time in American business. The clamping down on business behavior, the intense scrutiny on very visible figures in America, I was one of them, because I was the first woman to make a billion dollars in America, herself. So I sold some stock, and I was accused of doing something around that sale that really didn't make too much sense, and I had to go to jail because I defended myself."
Yes Martha, you being sent to jail was clearly a product of the government "clamping down on business behavior." Last time I checked, lying to federal investigators about your insider trading doesn't constitute "business behavior." Building a huge fort out of paperclips and staring at secretaries' asses all day long doesn't constitute business behavior either, but I'm not the one in the spotlight here. Why are you even trying to change the subject? Seriously, get off my back.

As much as it makes my skin crawl, I actually agree with Martha Stewart. What was she convicted on? Some ink that may have come from a different pen? A memo that was erased and then quickly written back in? Please. The evidence against her was weak, at best. But they needed a scapegoat to deflect all the interest in white-collar crime, and Stewart fit the bill (even though she didn't even have much stock in ImClone and had no fiduciary responsibility to the company). I guess I'm just bitter that she was locked up while the REAL corporate criminals get off scot free...

She in fact did nothing wrong. She was not apart of insider trading, as her advisor told her the president of the company sold all of his stock. She decided to sell, she was not given information that the company was actually going down the crapper. This was a weak case in which she was wrongfully accused of insider trading. She had worked as a broker herself! She KNEW what she was doing was wrong, folks! And then she lied about it to the feds. I was glad to see that she had to do the time because it WAS a crime.
Martha Stewart is not DUMB. There are lots of successful women hater. When A woman of great intelligence arises to the top and has a great deal of wealth with it, lots of people skin crawls especially men. They are intimidated. Examples. Problems surround all most all successful women, because of jealousy. Hilliary Clinton, Martha Stewart, Opra Winfrey, Katie Couric. All these women, because of their brains and good hearts got them where they are. So Lay off Martha Stewart, she built with her own hands the empire she has. All through High school she had talent and it progressed through the years and she used her brains to turn her talent into money. The case was very week and and she should have never went to jail. Who ever accused her of being a liar that means they probably wouldn know the truth if it slapped them in the face. Listen yer stupid retard, lyin about a stock tip is no more serious than accepting a stock tip (assuming she did anything really wrong in in this respect).
